Just wondered whether there is any future possibility of having the wonderful Apex Path API fronting the Unity Dynamic Navmesh?
So in all essence to a developer there would be no difference from an API perspective, its just that it would use the Unity Dynamic Navmesh at generation/baking time instead of a grid as this would provide the 3D capability that is currently missing….
While it would technically be possible, it would require quite a lot of new code to move away from the uniform grid approach, and several features of Apex Path would not work without rewriting their functionality. Therefore, it is unlikely that we will pursue this path.
However, since you have full source code to Apex Path, you could potentially take on this task yourself.
